We love birthdays and we love parties – and they do not come much bigger than this weekend’s extravaganza to celebrate the ‘official’ birthday of HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
This Saturday, ‘Trooping the Colour’ will take place and is a colourful spectacular worth of royalty!
The ceremony derives from two old military ceremonies, Trooping the Colour and Mounting The Queen’s Guard. The origin of the ceremony goes back to the early eighteenth century, and possibly even earlier, when the guards and sentries for the Royal Palaces and other important buildings in the capital were mounted daily on the parade ground by the Horse Guards building.
This got us thinking as to how we would decorate a room fit for a Queen with and we think we have found the perfect selections.
To us Royalty conjures up words such as regal, opulence and grand – and this paper fits the bill on all three counts!

This Royal House striped paper is the perfect compliment to the Damask wallpaper in (1) put works equally well as a ‘standalone’ product.

Royalty equals crowns, as does this perfect Crowns & Coronets wallpaper from Graham & Brown. The paper features a variety of crown motifs in black on a white background and is definitely a wallpaper fit for a king or queen!
Finally, no selection would be complete without a princess thrown in for good measure!
We absolutely love this beautiful Princess Toile from Graham & Brown, a pretty and subtle Disney Princess wallpaper in soft pink and white that would look beautiful in a girl’s bedroom.
